"Our teachers look back at the very beginning with joy, pleasure, tenderness… Their reminiscences are always warm… There was a certain engine, a battery, thanks to which everything lived and grew. Many people thought that The School was just a concept, a fantasy, a dream . But I’m convinced: to create something real, you should first see it and shape up in your mind and only then make a reality of it. It’s necessary to nurture child’s responsibility for himself and for others. Let him learn to be responsible from day one. Any, even inconspicuous details should correspond to the school’s concept. Traditions and new ideas – that’s exactly what makes school alive. A school changes together with the people inside of it. It’s like change of seasons. You should tolerate it and keep pace with changes."

"The building of Lomonosov school is made of stone and has spacious classrooms, two halls and parquet floor. The style of the building is German-Dutch. A beautiful view of the Oka and the Volga opens up from the premise. The classrooms are replete with air and light."
The newspaper "Volgar", 1913
"The building is made of red brick and has a lot of space around it. The towers and high inclined roofs make the building look somewhat severe. The entrance to the building has a decorative margin in the shape of plastered pylons. There is also a sculpture bust of Lomonosov here, along the axis of the entrance."

In honour of this glorious anniversary on September, 8th 1912 grand opening of a new academic building with windows looking out on Strelka took place in Nizhniy Novgorod. In this building they placed two City Middle Schools at once – Rozhdestvenskoe and the one named after Mikhail Vasil’evich Lomonosov. On that day a prayer service took place and the building was sanctified. The administrative board of the city was present in body headed by the mayor, I.V. Bogoyavlenskiy. Traditionally, the universities and institutes conducted their own admissions tests regardless of the applicants' school record. There were no uniform measure of graduates' abilities; marks issued by high schools were perceived as incompatible due to grading variances between schools and regions. In 2003 the Ministry of Education launched the Unified state examination (USE) programme. The set of standardised tests for high school graduates, issued uniformly throughout the country and rated independent of the student's schoolmasters, akin to North American SAT, was supposed to replace entrance exams to state universities.
